Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina debuted with sly songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. In her studies, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. After graduation, she begin to concentrate on music. After gaining viral fame via the Internet the track My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. It also contained popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. In addition to having a book published, her other career was singing. Apart from the early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
